James A Keaney had an idea. After managing the set-aside program for the City of Hartford, resulting in over $100 million in projects being awarded through the program, he wanted to do more. Why not set up a company that helps support minority contractors and sub-contractors by providing key infrastructure needs so they could free themselves from administrative hassle. A bit later, he went all-in, by actually starting a construction company dedicated to hiring a diverse array of employees and subcontractors. Hence, Diversity Construction Group.

Diversity Construction Group grew. And as it grew, Keaney realized he needed some help. Hence, he hired Signature Brand Factory to give a public face to his outstanding idea for a construction company. First of all, Signature developed a website bursting with content. It featured individual pages for over 30 projects across 11 categories with a description, pictures and downloadable PDF for each. Whew! Talk about a construction job.

Having a website bursting with content is a good thing, even a great thing. But it’s not enough. In today’s fast-paced world of high technology, we have to be in a position to reach everyone, everywhere. And that means mobilizing the effort. The website had to be so responsive that it would play on any type of device. And it did! But that was only part of the challenge.

Now that we were available on all types of devices in all sizes, we had to make sure people saw us. A local business, Diversity Construction Group had to engage the community. Signature was there to lead the way. We activated Social Media big time, posting an array of social media content that kept Diversity Construction Group top-of-mind. We celebrated holidays, new construction projects and even invited the public to join the Diversity ski team!

Diversity built upon the concept underlying its company by developing the Diversity Construction Group Foundation, dedicated to raising funds within the regional construction industry community to provide scholarships for students interested in pursuing a career in the construction and related trades. And guess what? They turned to Signature Brand Factory to develop a new logo and website for the Foundation.

It’s one thing to keep a high profile in community-centric social media, but it’s taken to another level when you actually connect with your community in-person. In order to raise funds for its scholarship program, the Diversity Construction Group Foundation sponsored networking events. They held events at local breweries, golfing events and even an event that celebrated St. Patrick’s Day. And, again, Signature was there to promote the events via emails, social media and across the web.
